Bridal Alterations
Our bridal alterations service is a continuation of our renowned luxury bridal experience at The Art of Bridal. We specialise exclusively in wedding gown alterations, custom tailoring, fit refinement and bespoke enhancements for all brides. With an in-house atelier and highly skilled seamstresses, we ensure every gown is shaped, sculpted and perfected with intention. We are located in Wilston and welcome all brides - whether you purchased your gown with us or elsewhere - to experience a personalised, detail-driven fitting journey.
1. Initial Fitting
When to book? 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding date. We measure, we pin and refine through visual assessment to prepare to make changes to your gown.
2. Additional Fitting
Depending on the level of adjustments required, we may recommend an additional fitting to fine-tune the finer details.
This appointment allows us to perfect the subtle details that make all the difference, ensuring your gown moves effortlessly with you. Not every bride will require this step, as it depends on your dress and the level of adjustment needed. For those who do, it’s a beautiful, layered approach to tailoring - where we refine each element until your gown fits like an absolute dream.
3. Then what happens?
Adjustments are scheduled to take place within a 2-3 week window. You will then return after these changes have been made for your final fitting and pick up appointment.
4. Final Fitting & Pick Up Appointment
The day has arrived, it is time to take your gown home ahead of your wedding day. During your final appointment, you will try on your gown one last time to ensure every detail is as expected.
Our team will walk you through how your gown moves, discuss any final care tips and make sure you feel completely confident wearing it on your wedding day.
You will then get married and live happily ever after!

Most brides begin alterations around 8 weeks before their departure date or wedding day. We recommend pre-emptively booking your first fitting when you book your collection appointment to secure your ideal time. And if it turns out you don’t need any alterations, hooray, you get to take your dress home right away!
