Real Bride Georgia wears Protea by Alena Leena
Georgia arrived at our boutique this time last year carrying that unmistakable pre-bridal glow, the soft thrill that hints a defining moment is near. Her appointment list was short, intentionally so, but TVC was always destined to be her starting point. She had dreamt about these gowns from a distance, and one in particular had already carved out a place in her imagination: Protea by Alena Leena.
Protea’s sculptural bodice and fluid skirt had lingered in her mind long before she ever touched the fabric. Still, she entered her consultation with a flicker of uncertainty, the kind that lives between expectation and reality. The instant she caught her reflection in the basque waist, visible corsetry and a skirt that floated rather than fell, the hesitation dissolved. It was not dramatic or overwhelming. It was simply an exquisite kind of certainty that settled beautifully in her chest.
Georgia’s wedding vision was centred around joy, romance and atmosphere. She imagined a celebration layered with whimsy, florals in motion, soft movement in every detail and an undercurrent of moody drama that gave the day depth. She was drawn to silhouettes that felt both princess-like and timeless, classic in their construction but with a modern flare. Protea rose to the occasion and as one of the first gowns she tried on, it did more than meet the brief. A full chef’s-kiss moment that left no need to keep browsing because the answer was already standing in front of her.
When her nuptials arrived in May this year, Georgia felt an almost surreal sense of grounding, like the final piece had clicked into place. She did not want to take Protea off, even for a second. Her loved ones marveled at not only how breathtaking the gown was but also at how perfectly it echoed her energy. The only plot twist was the rain that swept through the portrait session, turning their images into soft, hazy memories. Though, in true bridal-era fashion, the rain simply called for a golden-hour sequel. So by August, they were retaking their bridal portraits beneath calm skies and golden sun, and Protea was glowing as if it had been made for an encore.
Her advice for future brides is wonderfully simple: slow down, breathe, and let the process unfold. Some brides find their gown in minutes, while others need to explore the full spectrum of options before something clicks, and both journeys are equally valid. Your gown will always reveal itself at the moment it is meant to.
